Meet Progress Through Play and Brita DeStefano! Progress Through Play specializes in treating developmental delays, flat head syndrome, torticollis, hypotonia, tummy time struggles, and more.
We thought you might want to get to know them a better and asked them all these great questions to fill you in! The best part of all this is that they are a part of the team we refer to directly in our professional network. We know the therapists personally, have had coffee with them and have a great relationship in caring for our families together.
Tell us about your practice
Progress Through Play is a mobile pediatric physical therapy practice for ages birth to 5 years old. I offer in-home and virtual sessions for traditional PT as well as wellness focused sessions for typically developing children.
What makes you great at what you do?
I have 10 years of pediatric experience as well as two of my own children. I believe that all parents deserve to have an understanding of their child’s development.
What do you enjoy about this work?
Getting to support parents, and give them peace of mind about their child’s development. I also love getting to see so many “firsts” – first steps, first time sitting up etc.
What sets you apart from others in your field?
My focus on wellness and prevention. I would like to educate parents about typical motor development and how to recognize red flags so that we can intervene early and move away from the “wait and see” model of health care.
Do you specialize in anything?
I specialize in treating developmental delays, flat head syndrome, torticollis, hypotonia, tummy time struggles etc. I also love to teach parents about age-appropriate play, how to connect with their infant, positioning to prevent delays and the foundations for healthy development.
